The power of plants

The plant

A tall wild grass, a relative of lemongrass and citronella, that produces an oil of more than eighty per cent geraniol — the same molecule that carries much of the smell of a rose. It is harvested after the grass has begun to dry, because the geraniol content rises as the plant does. For a house built on rose, it is a grass that behaves like a flower.
