A tree that refuses to die. Cut it down and it resprouts from the stump; the trunk hollows out over centuries while the tree goes on fruiting. Some standing groves were planted before the Roman empire. The oil is pressed from the whole fruit, is dominated by oleic acid, and carries a small polyphenol fraction that survives from the fruit into the bottle.

Used in a small quantity in the hand cream, and as the infusing medium that draws calendula into oil.
