Green Tea
Green Tea
The plant
One evergreen shrub gives every kind of tea in the world; the difference is only in what happens to the leaf after picking. Green tea is the leaf that was stopped early — heated before it could oxidise, so the polyphenols it made while growing stay largely intact. Those polyphenols are what the plant built to protect its own leaves from sun and stress, and they are the reason the extract is worth the trouble of adding cold.

What it does
A polyphenol-rich extract that supports the skin's antioxidant defences and helps calm the look of heat and irritation.
Where it comes from
Certified organic, supplied as a glycerine-based liquid extract with no added water beyond the carrier.
Green tea polyphenols are heat-sensitive. In every emulsion it appears in, it is added below 40°C, after the batch has cooled — which is slower to make, and the only way the extract survives.
