Grape seed oil exists because winemaking leaves a great deal behind. After pressing, the skins, stems and seeds remain as pomace, and the seeds in that pomace hold a light oil very high in linoleic acid. It is a by-product in the truest sense — an ingredient that would otherwise be waste, and one of the lightest plant oils available.
