The power of plants

The plant

Not a geranium at all but a pelargonium, and the scent is not in the flower but in the leaf — brush one and the whole plant announces itself. Its oil shares several of its principal molecules with rose otto, citronellol and geraniol among them, which is why it reads as rose-adjacent to the nose and why it has been used to stretch rose for as long as rose has been expensive.

Skincare benefits

What it does

Carries the rose note through emulsions, where hydrosol alone cannot reach.

Responsible sourcing

Where it comes from

Certified organic essential oil. Kept well within the limit for leave-on use and declared, with its sensitising constituents listed on every label.

Worth saying plainly

Rose geranium contains naturally occurring sensitisers. We keep it well within IFRA limits for leave-on products and print the constituents rather than hiding them behind the word 'parfum'.
