A citrus grown almost nowhere else on earth. The fruit is too sour to eat and the whole crop exists for its peel, which is expressed for the oil that gives Earl Grey tea its character and eau de cologne its opening. The trees are grafted onto bitter orange rootstock and the harvest runs through the Calabrian winter.
